So, at the moment we are ” busy as a Bee “🐝🐝🐝. But, meanwhile it’s time to start thinking and planning our summer holidays…And how would you like to start your wonderful Summer Season 2023 ?

Obviously, in the best way: an ELECTRIFYING AND IMPRESSIVE WORKSHOP WITH ARTIST KEVIN SCULLY 🌻🌼💐

The workshop will be held at the village hall in picturesque Little Coxwell, SN7 7LW . Little Coxwell is a picturesque village, situated in the Vale of White Horse. In the centre there is a pub (The Eagle Tavern), a 12th century church (St Mary’s), a red phone box and a post box. The village was originally part of Royal Berkshire but came within Oxfordshire when the county boundaries were redrawn.

WHEN ?

The workshop will be held on Friday 2nd June 2023.  It will run from 10am-3pm with a lunch break: the happiest moment!😉😃 Tea, coffee and biscuits provided. 🍵☕️🍪🍫Fee: FAS Members £40. Non-Members £45.

WHO’S KEVIN ?

Kevin Scully trained at Wimbledon School of Art and has exhibited widely and travelled extensively. He leads painting holidays at home and abroad and teaches at workshops and art classes in the UK”. On his exquisite website you will find a selection of his atmospheric and evocative paintings for sale in oil, acrylic, watercolour and pastel. The subject matter is varied and the locations range from Cornwall to Morocco and beyond. So,that’s a delight, especially for Cornwall’s lovers like me.

WHAT CAN YOU LEARN AT THIS WORKSHOP ?

Creating drama and atmosphere can add another dimension to your paintings, and during this workshop you will be examining the different techniques that will enable you to produce some exciting and evocative effects. Mood can be established in a variety of ways including composition, viewpoint, contrast, by organizing a suitable colour scheme, and in particular, dramatic lighting. During the day, you will have the opportunity to produce paintings depicting different seasons and weather conditions in an informal and light-hearted way “

WHY TAKING PART IN A WORKSHOP?

Surely every artist is very talented and has a powerful natural ability and special skills. Nevertheless nobody can deny that a workshop, especially a Faringdon Art Society ‘s workshop , surely is a “must-see” and a precious chance. Moreover, a day devoted to art is a well spent day that makes you happier and it’s a great way to relieve stress, pain and anxiety. Scientific studies have proved this positive effect, above all during Spring Season when Nature itself with its shining colours begins an art masterpiece.

Looking at nature, a special and genuine work of art itself, it’s little wonder that it has been such a popular subject for painters. ‘Art takes nature as its model’, declared Aristotle.

That’s all. Heartfelt thanks to Faringdon Art Society and Kevin Scully!

‘We began as mineral. We emerged into plant life, and into the animal state, and then into being human, and always we have forgotten our former states, except in early Spring when we slightly recall being green again’, said the poet Rumi
